On April 24, Sister Margie Seely, Director of the Educational Department at IMS, announced in a circular letter the very interesting Hebron Challenge Initiative that is directed to children and young people from three age groups: 4 to 7 years, 8 to 12 years and 13 to 18 years. Since April 18, 2021, the participants could register, using the following link: https://forms.gle/yTbJUpF1h9vdNyJG7.

From May 2, 2021, to July 2, 2021, the young people should meet challenges in eight different areas: 1. Bring a Friend (Inviting one or more friends to participate in a Hebron challenge with you); 2. Vegetable Garden (Planting one, two or three types of seeds); 3. Waldensian (Writing five missionary letters by mentioning at least one, three or six biblical verses within them, and then distributing them on public places or giving them to interested neighbors); 4. Science (Making one, two or three experiments that show God’s wisdom and love); 5. Tell a Story (Choose an idea from the following three categories: a) Your favorite Bible story; b) A Bible story that is not so well known; c) An original story that teaches a Biblical principle); 6. Dorcas (4-7 years: Donate toys, clothes, books, or other useful items; 8-12 years: Supply an act of service;13-18 years: Prepare a meal); 7. Cooking (4-7 years: 1 cooking challenge; 8-12 years: 2 cooking challenges;13-18 years: 3 cooking challenges); 8. Bible Memorization (Memorizing 3, 5 or 7 Bible verses, according to age group).

The challenges are to be met individually or with the family (or the church). The goal is to develop young people’s creative talents and to have fun, gaining wonderful experiences with God, according to His word in Proverbs 2:1-11.

Finally, the challenges met should be video recorded, according to the requirements of the General Conference, and sent to the Educational Department at IMS via the register form. In addition, a Hebron Sabbath will be celebrated on July 17, 2021, inn order to announce the results. Gifts are foreseen for participants who have met a part of or all the challenges.
